Facebook has just announced 2 days ago that they are rebranding their company’s name to Meta as they are building a metaverse for their users. According to published articles, Mark Zuckerberg said “We believe the metaverse will be the successor of the mobile internet,” and “We’ll be able to feel present — like we’re right there with people no matter how far apart we actually are.”
ProjectOasis and other metaverse projects within the crypto space have a similar outlook towards the future of the metaverse. It will be a place where people from all over the world can gather and interact without the barrier of distance. Currently there are ample amounts of metaverses birthed with different themes and concepts to each of them and these metaverses have been in the development for many years.
The goal of almost every metaverse will be to develop a “world” akin to the movie Ready Player One, where a user/player will be able to access anything they desire with a few clicks of a button. A place where you can work and earn while enjoying yourselves. A place where dreams are made of.
The Oasis metaverse, in its early development phase, has garnered great feedback from its users. The fact that users can access different Decentralized Finance (DeFi) tools all in one platform is something that many have been looking forward to but none has successfully done so thus far.
